Through the mentorship and example of Maine Oxy-Acetylene Supply Company, and as part of the PurityPlus Specialty Gas producer network, Wright Brothers, Inc. was able to fulfill the requirements for the accreditation more efficiently. Wright Brothers is one of the first Independent Welding Distributors Cooperative Inc. (IWDC) members who have gained this accreditation.

Even throughout the United States, there are only a handful of laboratories that have gained this specific accreditation for use in the industrial gas industry.

The ISO/IEC 17025:2005 is the main standard used in laboratories with testing and calibration technology. It sets the general requirements for the competence to perform tests and calibrations using standard, non-standard, and laboratory-developed methods. The certificate is important because of the rigorous and more detail-oriented procedures and practices that accompany it. This standard aids laboratories in developing their management systems for quality, administrative, and technical operations.
